I can actually answer this easily in one map. You can find Asians in many places throughout the metro. They are also near most of the cities business centers and industrial districts, but they definitely gravitate towards certain places. There are definitely light to moderate amounts in E. Cobb.

As a really nice Korean gentleman told me on my flight from Seoul last week... Go where the H Mart is.

The long and short of it is they are focusing largely on certain spots to maintain access to cultural amenities from groceries, restaurants, shopping, and religious/community institutions. There is many more in places other than East Cobb and in these location it is just very noticeable. There are more cultural amenities. There are several large Hindu Temples in Lilburn and Clayton Co. You can -easily- various Asian ethnic grocery stores in the corridor from eastern Alpharetta/Johns Creek to Lilburn (notably centered on Duluth).

Buford Highway in Chamblee and Doraville always get a strong mention for one the 3 reasons:
1) When Atlanta was smaller, it was the old Duluth for Asians. People who have been here a long time know it
2) For just a couple miles Asian businesses own just about every strip mall shop on Buford Highway, even if the census tract next to it is all hispanic in one direction or only 20% Asian in another.
3) I have noticed there is this intown "ITP" crowd that refuses to leave the the perimeter unless they are going out town. They really just don't think to venture out into Gwinnett, Clayton or Cobb much. These people often bring up Buford Highway frequently as a hotspot for Asian cuisine.
