The Beltline folks seemed to poo-poo the idea when I last spoke with them in person, despite the fact that every single person I've spoken with thinks we need a 10th or 14th street transit link. But I really think a 10th street line would get much, MUCH more usage than a North Ave. line. (Georgia Tech and Piedmont Park alone are worth it, IMO.)

Please make this happen, O Beltline demi-gods!
That is great news. Thanks for the info!

The text says an alternative alignment along 10 Street is also being evaluated. Maybe they will build both!

T-SPLOST ‘education' campaign push starts

"Starting Friday, a privately funded advertising campaign is kicking off to “educate” metro Atlanta voters about one of the most important decisions in the region’s history.

The ads press a sore point any metro Atlanta commuter knows: Traffic is messing with people's lives. They note that the average Atlantan spends 260 hours per year commuting, "like working another full-time job for a month and a half without pay." It calls the referendum "one possible solution" and refers the audience to the campaign's website, transformmetroatlanta.com, for more facts.

Bob Frey, a tea party activist, agrees it's an important decision -- important to defeat. He thinks traffic needs to be dealt with, but the government can't be trusted to do it right. He's not looking forward to the ads..."

The teabaggers are a joke. With gas going up there will be people who want an alternative commute.

Leave it to the Teabaggers! Anything that makes sense is shot down immediately.

Did any of them even graduate from high school?

Does anyone feel that these new ads and continued push by the Mayor will have an impact on TSPLOST getting passed?

In the City of Atlanta, Yes! Kasim Reed has a done a great job as mayor. Don't really know how people outside of Atlanta city proper view him? Other mayors and councilpeople need to put their support behind the TSPLOST in other cities and counties, especially those that were on the board that approved the projects.

People who drink tea are funny to you?

How about the current administration start doing what it can to increase supply and reduce regulation to help impact prices? How about the current administration trying to reduce the uncertainty in the middle east to reduce the global price of oil to the extent it can?

How about we stop pouring billions of dollars down rat holes on pet projects like Solyndra and the Chevy Volt, and put that capital to work immediately where it can to increase supply and help reduce demand in real ways?

Your slogans probably get some applause from the echo chamber, but in the real world where some of us live, it's a joke.

How about we stop pouring billions of dollars down rat holes on pet projects like Solyndra and the Chevy Volt (The Volt, and future advances/improvements that will follow in its footsteps, would be a workable option for people who don't CHOOSE to live in the middle of nowhere, like you do), and put that capital to work immediately where it can to increase supply and help reduce demand in real ways? According to wikipedia,
Quote:
they tend to show that Tea Party supporters are mainly white and slightly more likely to be male, married, older than 45, more conservative than the general population, and likely to be more wealthy and have more education
