It's all irrelevant.

This bill is not going to pass.

Probably not, but it's because too many rural counties were included in the Atlanta region.

They said on the news the other night that only 350,000 people are expected to come out to vote throughout the region- that's not a very big turnout. I wouldn't be so sure about how easily it's going to pass- people who are "no" votes are much more apt to cast a vote to prevent it from passing than those who might want it but aren't ardent supporters and therefore think "Fulton's got the largest number of voters, so it'll pass easily".

^ No it wouldn't pass easily, because the outlying counties are going to be overwhelmingly no, so even if turnout is high in the inner counties the percentage voting yes will have to be high (probably higher than it's going to be). Not everyone in the inner counties is for it.

According to the latest poll only 52% of Dekalb/Fulton voters were planning to vote yes (with about 15% undecided). It's going to have to be higher than that to overcome the No's from the outer counties.

Exactly.

I don't know why you think everyone in Fulton is guaranteed to vote yes.

There are plenty of people who don't want to see a 9% sales tax.

Add some buses
Buses will get stuck in the same congestion. There are already 2-3 bus routes serving that area that gets caught in the same congestion. 9% sales tax isn't much, traveled to TN a couple weeks ago and their sales tax was pushing 11%, Birmingham has 9.75%. You would barely notice a 1% increase and this sales tax will allow visitors to the region to help pay for our transportation improvements.
