Yes, and the TSPLOST is no longer really about fixing actual and real transportation issues. It's about the money.

Yes, New Shimmer...it's a floorwax and a dessert topping.

Saturday Night Live: Shimmer Floor Wax - Bing Videos

No, transportation isn't political, but the politicians and vested interests have made the TSPLOST by definition a political issue. The TSPLOST represents money, not transportation.

Be even better on Tues when this monstrosity is defeated.
Really, Neil? Really? You're getting butthurt at an airtight, logical argument? Relax. Atlantans are not going to vote for an investment in their future. Your way of life shall not be infringed.

<Shakes head in disgust> "My way of life"

You and others continue to be tone deaf. I won't restate the same things again.

I really hate the ad hominen attacks in this thread. Isn't it possible to have have a discussion without resorting to that?

Not when some people are all-give-and-no-take, no, it's not possible any more, arjay. This thread is a microcosm of what the political discussion has turned into in America. From at least some people's point of view, differences of opinion automatically mean that that other person is a bad person and should be ridiculed as such. It makes no difference whether that crashes the discussion, the target of the discussion is halted, or even if that brings political progress itself to a halt. They literally do not care. Scoring cheap ego points has become their definition of "patriotism." And when they are called on such BS, they immediately go hysterical.

Naysayers, prove me wrong with your ACTIONS.

I am glad you find me so funny. I'll be at the Uptown Comedy Corner Friday night, come out if your not stuck in traffic!
It your out job to read polls, but to change polls. Polls are not the end all, I do no believe any of the polls because we do not know where, how, or who took the polls. If its land lines, then a majority old, white people.

Well me an my wife aren't and we have voted in every major election since turning 18. What about the presidential election of 2008. Old, white people didn't vote for President Obama so there must be other demographics voting. Those that don't care about the future cause they are going be dead anyways. let's get a poll of young, educated, professional people and see those numbers?

Yes, the young and blacks did get all riled up last election and helped elect a near socialist president based on buzzwords and the "Hey look, he looks like me" reasoning. That one election doesn't change the fact that old white people vote more than other demographic groups. It is what it is.

To imply that those old people don't care about the future is moronic. They care, and they vote. I'd blame the masses of uninformed young voters that don't vote if I were you rather than implying that old people are dying and vote simply on the basis that they don't care about the future. Hell, this generation of old people have done more for this country than any other generation.
