The Bremen City School System in Haralson County is one of the best in Georgia (do not confuse it with Haralson County Schools which are best avoided). This school system is so good that fully half of the students live outside city limits and so pay tuition and are carefully screened before admittance. There is a waiting list to get in for those who live outside city limits.

Bremen is a long drive to ATL but it is doable particularly if you work in the Downtown/Midtown area.

Um, Bremen City Schools are public, right? Other than refusing to admit kids who have been expelled from another school, a city school system like Bremen is not allowed to "carefully screen" people who want to pay tuition. It's against the law to do that. They have to accept anyone who is willing to pay tuition (except expelled students) on a first come/first served basis or on a lottery basis.

I don't know the criteria for admission but I do know that just because someone has the tuition money and is first in line they don't automatically get accepted. Problem students are kept out.

I'm currently looking to buy a house in the Suwanee/Lawrenceville area. I'm aware of which Lawrenceville schools are to be avoided but am I right to say that all of the schools in Suwanee are pretty good?

Also, is there a website where I'm able to browse homes for sale by the schools cluster or district? It would make things a whole lot easier and faster for me.

I like to use Harry Norman Realty's website: www.harrynorman.com
Go to the "Find a home" tab and then do a search using the school district tab. In there, you can choose the schools
that you are interested in and search. Once you registered with them, you can save your searches
and they will email you when new houses come on the market. Two things that I like about this site
is that their "mapping this house" is very accurate and they never bother you with soliciting emails,
only search results. Happy house hunting!

Thank you so much, it's a very useful site!

I was also wondering if the Collins Hill School system are considered great and worth buying a house for? I get mixed feedback from co-workers, Some say it's not going to be such a good cluster anymore.

Collins Hill is good. Why are your co-workers saying this?

I don't know why, I got mixed replies. Some say it's great, some say it's going downhill slowly...I was confused since everyone here seem to love that school system. The elementary school is private though I think. And I'm not sure if we can afford private schooling so I was just double checking here to see if it's worth it

Default APS Salary Schedule?

I've been scouring the net to no avail... Does anyone know where I can find the current teacher salary schedule for Atlanta Public Schools online?
