Not sure what they're getting at, but things are just as close to the road on the west side as the east side. I don't know what they think the trains will do to the elementary schools. MARTA trains are quiet, and it's good advertising; unless that's it, parents don't want their kids "indoctrinated" by the communist trains
I say unless there's a binding contract in place that either side can produce a physical copy of, just build it where it's cheaper.

I was looking at a house with MARTA behind the back fence and it really wasn't that loud.

They don't want the trains in their backyards, but what they do not realize is past the river, most of the development is on the east side of 400; eg: North Point Mall area.

Maybe it's construction sounds or the loss of trees between their property and 400? There is certainly space to build the line up the east side.

Resident complaints about HRT noise in the corridor seem rather flimsy to me considering that they already endure infinitely noisier CSX rail traffic.

Huh? There isn't a freight railroad within miles of the GA-400 corridor.

I think he's mixing up the HRT extensions.

GA400 North of city,
Clayton line (on/near CSX rail) South of the city.

I was referring to the Clifton Corridor. Sorry for the confusion.
