They are considering reserving space for a connection to the future Trolley Line PATH trail that will extend east from the Beltline to Moreland Ave. and beyond.

The entire Beltline trail from Wylie to Memorial was designed and is being built to allow room for transit to be added. Transit in this corridor will be possible regardless of what's chosen in the current round of federal reviews.

Wylie speed table where the Beltline crosses is probably happening (similar to the one on Irwin). Signage and trash cans for the extension are on order, will be here in 3 weeks. They're working with the city to get funding to repave Wylie. (Aside: I don't understand why this is taking so long; it needs to be repaved because of the Beltline construction; the Beltline budget or the Renew Atlanta bond money should cover it.)

Reynoldstown stage (behind Muchacho/Golden Eagle just north of Memorial) design is done, but no funding for construction yet.

Please plan for the future Trolley Line Trail project, funded via TSPLOST.

Having a Shake Shack within walking distance of my house is just the motivation I needed to get out and walk more.

Light the Line donations matched with TSPLOST to snag GDOT grant. Installation in early 2018.

Nonetheless, the campaign funding that was raised is acting as a local match for TSPLOST tax funds. That’s enabled Atlanta Beltline Inc. to leverage a Transportation Enhancement grant from the Georgia Department of Transportation for roughly $560,000, which will help fund installation of Eastside Trail lighting, said John Becker, Atlanta Beltline Partnership communications coordinator.

Atlanta BeltLine Inc. says it has bought 13 acres needed to finish the northeast corridor between Rock Springs Road northeast and Mayson Street northeast.

The purchase price was approximately $460,000.

“The acquisition was also supported by The Conservation Fund, who provided a bridge loan for the transaction while the T-SPLOST funds are collected over a five-year period,” ABI said in the press release.

Great progress!

But talking of progress its now getting silly that the small extension from Irwin St to Edgewood is still not officially open...was chatting to one of the guys in Bell Street Burritos last week and they are desperate for it to open. Any ideas on when the fence might actually be taken down?
