Hi- my family may be relocated from Ohio to ATL area due to corporate relo. We are an interracial couple w/ a family. We are looking for a place with open-minded professionals where, hopefully, we will be welcomed into the neighborhood and our kids won't get ridiculed at school. Price range for home 450k-600k. Any suggestions? We have read great things about Alpharetta and Johns Creek. Any insight on those areas or any others? We would also like to be relatively close to shopping, restaurants, hospitals, etc. Thanks for any input!!

I think you'll be fine in JC or Alpharetta. You probably want to live somewhat near your work, though.

I really think you would be fine anywhere in Metro Atlanta. Interracial couples are not uncommon here. Close friends of mine that live in Fayetteville (Fayette County) an Atlanta southwest suburb, who are interracial (White husband/ Black wife) told me they got much stranger looks on a recent trip to Chicago of all places than they EVER have gotten in Metro Atlanta. Welcome to the South and Atlanta. Good luck on your home search!

Yeah, I would definitely stick to North Fulton (Roswell, Sandy Springs, southern sections of Alpharatta; the drive from Johns Creek or Milton might be horrifying is you get too far off of GA 400.) or Northwest Dekalb may be a good suggestion (Dunwoody is just across the Fulton/ Dekalb County line from Sandy Springs) and is known as a nice upscale suburb (and certainly closer-in) than many parts of North Fulton to your job, despite crossing county lines (the Perimeter Center office district is in Fulton AND Dekalb Counties; Sandy Springs and Dunwoody are adjacent municipalities)
