Am I the only one disappointed in the fact that, among many other things, the box seats will no longer be on one side of the arena? I loved watching Thrashers games from the cheap seats that weren't actually that terrible.

Atlanta lost 2 NHL teams, we aren't getting another chance.

Is that just seating arrangement optimization, or will there literally be no chance of a hockey surface, even a minor-league one? If it's the latter then this is just stupid. Islanders and Coyotes fans can tell you all about playing on ice surfaces that the arena doesn't fit properly.

One of the renderings on the Hawks Twitter showed the suite stack remaining.

I thought they were doing to turn it into a LA Live type environment?

People say this but it's silly. City loses more how, by paying 140 million for this renovation or by losing all of it's pro franchises? Keep in mind this means no need to upgrade them after that point so the city also loses all of the events that these stadiums host. People dont really think logically on this subject.

The Hawks weren't going anywhere. Reed lost the one franchise that has enough attendance to really anchor development. What a boob.

No worry.

This has been a completely transparent process with plenty of public hearings and opportunities for the taxpayers to weigh in.
