Most of the private schools aren't super strict on age, but within limits. I know older kids "held back" a year for various reasons.

Your chances are extremely limited coming in after K/Pre-first, and you won't be admitted if your kid isn't exceptional given they can only take one or two. Just being realistic. If K is a good fit for your kid, apply for K, but the window is closing quickly if not already closed for applications.

The idea of repeating 6th grade down the road is not a good idea. The schools are tough to get into and require recommendations.

Best advice here is to broaden your search. Trinity is a great school for one, feeds into Westminster in a big way, but they start at K also so you're still coming in late.

Sorry, couldn't let this characterization slide by. There are several other private schools in Atlanta that are on par with these three. (Full disclosure: My kids go to one of these three.)

Hello OP

What was the outcome of your efforts? Which school did your child get into and can you share what your son or you had to do forxadmissions? I’m particularly interested for Westminster, Lovett and pace.

The OP hasn't posted in city data for two years so I doubt they're still around. The websites and admissions offices of the three schools you mentioned will have all the information you need to get started. You can also search the forum for this topic as there are a number of threads with good information.

How the hell does a kindergarten student get recommendations? I swear the country is becoming too competitive, 30 years from now it's gonna be impossible to get a decent career where you make decent money unless you attended a top 20 university.

There will always be winners and losers. If a kid can't climb to the top by pre-nursery, better to go ahead and cut him out of the pack.
