I also noticed they made the exit for I-285 West has been made 2 lanes.
I think having a few more of these going East-West across the metro would do wonders for the congestion by adding quick alternatives without destroying the neighborhoods. You could basically convert many existing roads to this grade.

Several mentions of how our wonderful legislature and possible next governor might have hurt our bid.

I don't think so. I want ATL to get it because of the other development it could spawn. Seattle had Microsoft, then Amazon expanded wildly. That has attracted Facebook, Google, and others, along with venture capital. Tons of high-tech high-paying jobs because those companies will expand where the talent is. I want ATL to be one of the cities that's creating the future -- that's San Francisco/San Jose, Boston, Seattle, DC, NY, with Denver and Austin a bit below. We, along with Dallas, Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia, are in the 2nd tier.

I doubt we get it, at this point. The political environment in this state has become far too regressive.

I ran across that same article at the WaPo & believe that if it accurately reflects the mindset of Bezos & other top Amazon execs, Atlanta is now effectively out of the picture... as in stick a fork in it.
Note the Atlanta-specific portions scattered throughout the text at that link which include, "...an Amazon executive groaned at the mention of proposed legislation in Georgia that would restrict same-sex adoption..." & "...I just think Atlanta's out."
A couple of old sayings come to mind including, "Let the chips fall where they may" & "If you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas."

Yeah, when discriminating against gays is more important than good economic development, you elect people like we have. There's always call centers, I suppose. We'll never know how often we weren't in consideration because of the state's politics.

5. You really should reconsider your anti-Fayette County viewpoints.
Not anti-Fayette, I have no reason to go there.

At this point I will be glad if Amazon doesn't choose Atlanta and explicitly states it is because the state of Georgia is run by backwards inbred hillbillies.

If nothing else it would be a wake-up call.

I'm not so sure. There are a lot of state legislators who pride themselves on fighting these kinds of culture wars against big "liberal" corporations.
