Hello Everyone, I'm moving to the Atlanta area over the summer to attend school over at Southern Poly in Marietta. I have been currently looking for a house in that area but I wanted to explore other areas in Atlanta. I'm pretty limited when it comes to areas of Atlanta due to my price range. I have a max price of 135,000. I'm willing to consider any area of Atlanta and the surrounds within a few parameters. I'm a do-it-yourself-er so I appreciate the "diamond in the rough", I don't mind an area with, how should I say this, non-white people. I like areas that are multicultural with diverse groups of people. I think that it enhances your surroundings.

I know that my price range is limiting me a whole lot but I wanted to ask everyone on this site for some advice. Any up and coming area with any color or creed is fine with me. I guess I should mention that I'm only interested in safe areas that have potential for future growth. Thanks.

Try the Powder Springs area (SW of Marietta, still in Cobb County). There are a variety of 1960s brick ranch style homes in that area, some with a bit of repair needs (others not so much). It's possible with some searching to find them in that price range in this area.
