Apparently it got canceled because one Monroe county man (that obviously was never even planning to attend this event) threatened to sue if he wasnt allowed to bring his gun.

If insurance issues and "riders" on performance contracts (long in place for the safety of various performance artists) specifically have this in place as go guns allowed in concert venues, then what you call "idiocy" is actually based on monetary & safety issues.
What one person can claim is "idiocy" is based on what someone else sees as their own financial and personal safety.

I don't want anyone at a concert with me if they feel they can't go to a large concert without their gun. It's probably best if you stay home if you feel like your gun is going to be necessary for that type of event. There's enough idiots in this city that fight and shoot at night spots. Probably not the best idea to have tens of thousands if not 100k idiots all it one place drunk at the same time with guns. People don't make rational decisions when they're drunk. Crowded places with drunk people makes those decisions even more irrational.

I was just thinking about that. You know it's bad if movie production companies pull out GA like they threatened to do a few years ago (I believe it was when that voter law passed). It's always had a negative image by the media but it's only going to get worse.

No telling how many North Carolinians will get taken out if they are forced to attend this festival as sitting ducks. At least Georgians would have had a fighting chance.

When have gun free zones ever stopped a shooting from happening? Law abiding citizens aren't the problem, it's the thug culture that glorifies gun violence that is the problem. How many rap concerts have had gun violence break out?? Think for a minute.
