yeah...I have nothing against over ground pool, some setting/land does not allow better... but probably those settings would not have any associations...

If you've got money to do it - you can build an in ground pool anywhere - on the side of a mountain, steep slopes, etc..

You REALLY need to think about it before you put in ANY kind of pool, unless you literally plan on growing old and dying in the house you're doing it at.

The house next to me took over a year to sell, although the other for sale closed fairly quickly. The real estate agent told me a lot of people were turned off by the pool, so Greg has a point. When we moved here from FL we looked forever to find a house with one, and finally gave up. We are not in a swim neighborhood, and out of 34 houses, only 5 have pools, and they are all salt-water models. I wanted one put in, but after realizing the swim season here isn't nearly as long as FL, I changed my mind. The house was originally listed at $689,900, and ended up selling for $515,000, so they definitely didn't get the cost of the pool back.

yes, I think you both have a point: cost and swimming season (including financial benefits).
Coming from Florida mattie, I understand that the swimming season for you in Atlanta is in comparison not as long. Coming from a colder area, for us le swimming season seems to be longer
I am interested in how much having our own swimming pool would cost yearly to maintain, any idea?
I also understand the indoor swimming pool idea, but it is not as fun for teenagers is it?
