Since Augusta is building up downtown theres nothing wrong with connecting downtown to a main interstate
This would help travelers/ tourist enter the city quicker
Does anyone agree with this idea, I believe it would help bring more people downtown

Not feasible, it would be easier to build a tunnel under the Augusta Country Club and connect it to Wheeler Rd, and widen the entire Wheeler Rd. On that note Riverwatch should be controlled access and designated as interstate 120.

I feel bad that I actually agree with that description of Gordon Highway. It is depressing to drive. That funk from FPL almost caused me to have a wreck. Then you go past the dead mall, dead putt-putt golf course (grandfather actually owned that place then sold it),what used to be a Dodge dealership, and some sort of place that sells extraordinary trash. If Gordon Highway was a person, it would be a serial pet killer. Gordon Highway needs to be on the list of beautification projects.

The beautification project on Gordon Hwy already started earlier this year...

Group launches Gordon Highway beautification effort | The Augusta Chronicle

Luckily Gordon Hwy between I-520/Grovetown is growing, and we only have to fix up the portion mainly around Regency Mall...
