The commission on Tuesday also approved paying nearly $200,000 to purchase a handful of parcels for rights of way along Washington Road in advance of the planned widening of the highway. Sales tax funding will be used to widen it from Gibbs Road to William Few Parkway, an estimated $40 million project.

BUILDING IS LEASED TO RENTAL CAR BUSINESS

Signs are up and Triangle Rent A Car will be leasing the property on Washington Road that was formerly a pair of restaurants—Shoney’s and Omakase Japanese Sushi and Grill. This will be the 29 th location of Triangle Rent A Car and the 7 th in Georgia. Their address is 3025 Washington Road and they are 200 yards from I-20 and close to Augusta National. Since they specialize in 7-15 passenger vans—it’s safe to assume they are expecting to do some business with Masters groups this year.

Good to hear construction is around the corner. I made a thread a while back on the subject.

Don't forget the price tag that come with this so call luxury resort : “We like to think of our communities as a cruise ship on land, if you will,” Thornton said. “It’s an all-inclusive package that you would associate with the words luxury and resort.” The three-story facility planned for Marshall Square will have about 165 residents in 130 apartments, with an anticipated average rent of about $3,000 per month, Thornton said. The “all-inclusive” price includes meals, utilities, shuttle transportation and activities.
