Perla's on 8/21 for my birthday w/ the husband(it was WONDERFUL) and French Quarter Grille on 8/27 for birthday w/ friends. Perla's wins over French Quarter Grille, but the latter was pretty good, as well.

Oh - a week before that was Hudsons on the Bend. Whole 'nuther kind of experience. Those duck diablos, the lamb shank, etc. are pretty amazing. Good to have that $75 off coupon.
Guero's has wonderful margaritas and the atmosphere is wonderful - just oozes character. Their best food choices are the tacos al pastor.

Went to Santa Catarina out in Lakeway... may be the best upscale Mexican food in Austin - at least a close second to Fonda san Miguel.

Try Hudson's on the Bend. It's different from all the rest.

Excellent choice but $$$$. It has been too long since we ate there, adding it to my to-do list.

I had Threadgill's Sunday brunch buffet. Good food and great atmosphere with Gospel music of course, but I find buffets in general to be a bit overpriced since I'm usually not one to make multiple trips to the line.

The Leaning Pear in Wimberley. Never disappoints. Found myself sitting across from Joe Ely one time. That was really not disappointing.

Green Mesquite on Barton Springs after flying back from a weekend trip. Got chicken fried steak, should have got the brisket.
