Exciting news...but Austin really should be NUMBER ONE nationwide, even though it's only number 4 in it's own state.

Magazines exist to sell copies and generate page views! The issue is the journalists and their methodology. I am always shocked at the number of people who take these lists very seriously! (like moving because of them!)

This list has a little more of a basis to it then some of them, though. It is basically saying that the Austin housing market did not fall that far, has shown signs of recovery, and the job market is passable (esp. compared to some other places). Those all seem to be true statements. I can't tell you how accurate the No. 2 is, though, but that is kind of irrelevant. People need a 'hard' number, so the magazines give them what they want.
