Wow..according to the Austin American-Statesman, record high temperatures were expected for the Austin area today and the temperature (as of 3PM) is 106!

Temperatures at this stage (with humidity) can be dangerous for the elderly, pets and people who perform strenuous outdoor exercise. How is everyone keeping cool?

Spent the morning swimming in Lake Travis . Should be notably cooler the rest of the week, which is nice.

Keeping cool by staying inside this afternoon. I thought it was 106 yesterday...maybe it was 104 or 5.

Only 99 when we finished the bike ride late morning...came home and haven't gone out since. I'm sure I'll be sweating soon! Gotta take the pup for a stroll.

My pool is 85. Felt good after mowing the yard. Stayed there most of the afternoon - Barbancourt and diet tonic for sustenance!

106 Friday and 108 Saturday, both records.

I beat the heat on Saturday by sleeping in and then staying inside until it was dark! Friday though... Worked outside all day, a little bit of water here and there goes a long way and not working too hard are keys to not dying out there.

Lightning was pretty scary just before the rain started. I got up to let my dogs out, and changed my mind after a flash of light filled the air above my patio.
