“This isn’t Austin, Texas, where they’re diverse as long as they’re east side of 35. This is Houston, Texas. And for the people in Austin who want to tear this **** up, you’re in the wrong ****ing city.” - Police Chief Art Acevedo

Boy is he right. Everything about that statement = 100% truth.

He never said this. You need to provide a source.

Art Acevedo, the guy who oversaw years of incompetence in the Austin lab that had a backlog of thousands of victim’s evidence going untested, and once stated in a TV interview against campus carry for coed rape victims not to worry, “we have rape kits for that”.

Also he is the guy who defended For months his narcotics team in Houston that conducted the abominably botched raid and murder of the Tuttles, a middle aged couple, all based on a faked tip to the corrupt cop who is now under indictment for multiple felonies (and hundreds of his cases are under review).

Houston can keep that worthless guy.

I wont defend all his actions, but I will absolutely defend that quote. What he said was 100% accurate. Austin is to diversity what candy corn is to nutrition, yet it constantly pats itself on the back for being liberal and accepting while actively pushing minorities out of its city to make a haven for white (so called) progressives.

I can think of nothing more hollow than claiming progressive values while shunning diversity in favor of pushing people out of their neighborhoods.

Totally get it - Austinites went to Houston to riot. ?????

To Art's other points about gentrification, they ring true.

When white people push out minorities from an area, it's the white people's fault (gentrification)
When minorities push out white people from an area, it's the white people's fault (white flight)

Agreed, but Acevedo is still nothing but a Self-aggrandizing politician who spouts Two-faced platitudes to his ignorant sycophants. His narc department is as dirty as they come and he will do nothing about it.

Did his wife get a cushy 6 figure do-nothing government job in Harris County like she did in Travis?

Austin is much better off without him. No takebacks.

From what I am reading, the rioters are not local to any specific metro, they're coming from everywhere. In many cities that they raid, several out of state tags are spotted locale to the area the riots break out in. In almost all cases, the protests begin peaceful before carnage breaks loose, and many of those involved in the riots are white. I can't tell if they're Antifa or White Supremacists.

There is the obvious thought that they're Antifa but there is also rumor that they're White Supremacists posing as Antifa in efforts to sabotage protesters.
