How does that align with the statement from the Mueller website, "Some 25 percent of the homes — more than 1,100 new houses, condos and apartments — are reserved specifically for households with lower-than-average incomes."?

I understand that the community is not built out, but wouldn't the % of affordable homes be about the same from beginning to end of the project?

Or is the amount of affordable housing simply 2% and condos and apt's making up the other 23%?

I like it, but I thought the prices there were high given its in a transitional neighborhood. The yards were really small too compared to equally priced offerings on the "good" side of I35.

Yes, the condos, townhomes, and apartments will make up the rest, from my understanding.

The houses are in price ranges that start over $350k. They aren't going to build 25% around $150k when the builder's price ranges and size restrictions are higher. Who would build a $350k house when every 1 in 4 would be priced significantly less? It doesn't work that way.

The "affordable housing" were houses priced in the $170-180's, so it's not like they were priced at $100k like people thought they would be. Some of the townhomes/condos are in the lower $200k.

I drove through and it felt like a deserted movie set. Houses are very close together, almost like something out of the northeast. I suppose it will appeal to transplants who don't mind that closeness to their neighbor and want to be close to downtown. There's the whole 'east side chic' lifestyle as well. Although nothing could be less east side than that new retail development on 35. The whole thing is kinda weird.
