I heard that and agree 100%. He's well respected...I hope NASCAR is listening.

Be fun to know how successful staging the Clash in LA worked out for NASCAR in gaining a new audience.

Southern California is such a tough market to crack with major league type of sports. Even the Chargers & Rams have trouble filling their new stadium with just "their" fans. Just so much to do outside in that area, that people don't want to sit in front of a TV for 4-5 hours each race, for an entire season.

Interesting though that SoCal has such a historic car culture.

At least NASCAR tried. Maybe it worked, maybe it didn't. We'll see what happens next.

Football is over, it's NASCAR baby!!

Anyone want to chime in with their final four prediction?

Dale Jr, who correctly picked Blaney to win last year, has him in the final four to repeat! Along with Larson, Hamlin and Logano.

Ford does have an edge at Phoenix.

The Fords are looking strong, grabbed the front row.

OTH, Chevy's are in trouble this year. With both Ford and Toyota getting improved facelifts, Chevy is stuck with the Camaro that is no longer being built.

Here's the top 10 in the starting grid for the 2024 Daytona 500:

No. 22 Joey Logano
No. 34 Michael McDowell
No. 45 Tyler Reddick
No. 20 Christopher Bell
No. 9 Chase Elliott
No. 2 Austin Cindric
No. 48 Alex Bowman
No. 11 Denny Hamlin
No. 77 Carson Hocevar
No. 42 John Hunter Nemechek

The rest of the field:

FWIW...A driver in the pole position has gone on to win the Daytona 500 only seven times. Cale Yarborough in 1968 and 1984 and Bill Elliott in 1985 and 1987.

This weekends weather at Daytona is not looking good. Rain forecast for Saturday into Sunday.

One local station reported that the 500 start time has been delayed 30 minutes to 3pm Sunday. Some are reporting that NASCAR may delay until Monday at 4pm!

Keep fingers crossed that the weather clears out.

Xfinity moves to 11am Monday. Not looking good for tomorrow either. Cooler too. This might be a good thing though since the qualified and ran the 125s at night.
