If I did, I would almost have to include myself except that I always make a profit on my antique tractors.
If you are wealthy enough to throw money down a rabbit hole, no you're not ignorant if that's what you enjoy doing. Many people spend money on rabbit hole hobbies they enjoy. However, if you're not wealthy, I would have to say it takes someone who is extremely economically challenged to throw money at a known liability.
Hot rodding/customizing has always been about the low buck hobbyist starting with a cheap shell and putting money and effort into it to make it the way they want it. You're just being an insulting prick about those that do the hobby in ways YOU wouldn't do it.

Agreed. I respect anything that has time and effort put into it no matter if it looks good to me or not. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder right?
the saddest part is this: the Generation 5 Camaro is so obese and bulky, that those ridiculous wheels dont even look that bad as far as perportionality (if that's a word). i've always said, the new Camaros remind me of the new Tahoes.
anyway, as for the original question of why people do this - maybe i'm just cynical, but when i hear (or read) someone asking that question, i always just assume that "because black people are stupid" is the answer that they're looking for.
