Heritage is not just measured in years. NASCAR arose from impromptu races Prohibition era moonshiners would hold to see who's stock car was fastest.

So what? The origins of Formula 1 dates back to the 20-30s. Take Ferrari, for instance. It is very hard to match that company in terms of race pedigree. The history of Formula 1 is anything but boring. It is a gold mine for historians or enthusiasts.

They're making a left turn?
NASCAR generates a desire for a huge sport of circle track racing. Most of this occurs on dirt tracks. GM makes money from its aftermarket division that supports this, and it is not a loss IMHO.

Those are my exact thoughts about football! Baseball has about 30 seconds of action and takes 6 hours to scratch, itch, spit, and play with your hands. At least, in hockey there's fighting to keep it interesting.

GM got $42K from me for a Tony Stewart Monte Carlo they made back in 2005. They've made other Monte Carlo's with Dale Earnhardt, Dale Earnhardt, Jr, and Jeff Gordon as well. They all sold well.

Default Point of NASCAR

The Point of NASCAR is to support its owners, executives and teams with money made from the fans and sponsors. Just like any other racing. I am fond of high end sports car and F1 because they actually do test new machinery and the edges of automotive control. NASCAR, like most of the other spec car racing, bores me.

It's also not very competitive. I havent watched an F1 race in since Schumacher was driving and it was sooooo boring. Schumacher and his teammate [cant remember his name] would gap the rest of the field by like half a lap. They're absolutely incredible machines but the racing is uncompetitive and boring.
