Car 1 is a 5 spd manual, Car 2 is a CVT

So this means car 1 is quicker off the line but car 2 has the advantage in fwy passing?

Not so fast. It still depends on the gearing of each transmission, one may have a very tight ratio, allowing for maximum acceleration, while the other may be designed for commuter status, so 4th, 5th, and 6th gears are very "tall" so the rpm is low while going 60-70mph.

I'll meet you down the middle with 3350lb, 343whp (approx 403hp) @ 7096rpm and 353wtq (approx 410tq) @ 3628rpm

This must be a smaller pressurized, that needs every advantage, or it goes down.

2.0 liter with a TD05H-20G turbo @ 20psi. At 20psi the turbo is barely breaking a sweat but I'm going to wait a bit before turning her up.

Hyundai Genesis Coupe?

Right on.

What I'm REALLY tempted to put in the garage is....

3300 lb with 640 hp @ 6150 rpm and 600 lb ft of torque @ 4950.

If only I didn't value having retirement savings or I'd be driving that bad boy TONIGHT.

You got it, 2011 Genesis Coupe. I'd like to turn up the boost but I'll have to build internals before I'd be comfortable with that.

The Viper is definitely an attractive machine and they tend to hold their values well compared to Corvette's although the C7 is nothing to sneeze at either.
