When you have a seat that is too soft your back and spine has to support the body's weight and over time you'll develop severe backpain because all of the movement during driving puts a lot of weight and pressure on the lower back.

This is why those American soft sofa seats are terrible for long distance driving.
Odd that I rarely got "fatigued" in those "soft American" seats and often have pain after long distances in now common newer style firm seats.
