I'm 6'3" and would really like to finally drive a car that fits me. Our 2009 Murano was fair in that regard, but I've been test-driving a Tahoe and now see just how comfortable driving a car can be for someone tall.

Not sure I want to plunk down 32k, though............and would really prefer a two-row SUV. I have tried almost all of them and most don't fit me well.. They are designed for people no taller than 6 feet tall. I like to lift the seat up and put it back, to fit my frame. When I do that, I almost always hit the ceiling, or have no visibility. So I put everything down and put up with being cramped.

Any tall people had luck in this area?? The Honda Passport I tried today was fairly good......just wish I could find something a little bit better (ergonomically speaking).

The 2019/2020 Forester has tons of headroom for a compact SUV, about 3/4in more than the Passport - with sunroof, it's 40.2in Forester vs 39.5in Passport.

Thanks! I am going to try one (haven't yet). I need to also consider the width of the back row as we have 3 kids including a car seat. The Forester is middle-of-the-pack with that consideration.
The way that the driver's seat is constructed really matters. Plus how it can be adjusted, armrests, etc.

since my wife is taller than me, i asked her.
she says it depends upon two dimensions.
Tall AND Wide or just Tall?

I am tall and a little bit wide (probably normal for my height).
I have tried a few SUVs that were okay with height, but had a dinky little armrest that was way too close to my body (so I had to pull my arm right in tight to my body to be able to use it, or use it as a HAND rest to hold my arm up).

thanks for your prompt post.

most are "too close".
armrests which elevate are her choice.
essentially, she says: you Will get Wider.
prepare for that. you can make a too-wide
seat smaller. you cannot make a too small
seat ANYTHING except too small.

I am 6'2" so know your problem. We went for the explorer, which gives me several inches over my head. Has proven to be most trouble free vehicle I have ever had, over 7 years. Licensed driver for 67 years.

Our housekeeper had a forester, and I rode with her one day. No way was it tall enough for me to sit up and drive. Not a tall persons SUV.

Do you know what year that Forester was? I think they have been making them bigger recently.

GMC Acadia SLE trim, it sits very, very low, with very-high headroom.

Check out the Hyundai Santa Fe. It has 41.2" headroom and plenty of interior space otherwise, priced at around 26K.
