+1

I've had several cars & parts of cars done at Maaco, no complaints at all. The last time was an aftermarket hood I installed on my mustang gt - the paint looked great & still looked great after several years of being parked outside here in the desert. I'd totally paint the cavalier & not worry a bit. At some point the "book value" is irrelevant - a well maintained car won't be "worth" much after 15 years, but it'll still get you where you need to go, be cheap to repair & can still look pretty good - and it won't have an attached car payment.

I just spent $200 having my 16 year old truck detailed.. Kbb says it's "worth" $1500 as a dealer trade in. $1500 wouldn't even cover the tax on a new one, and a new one wouldn't be any more reliable than mine, which has been "proofed" by driving 160,000 miles over the past sixteen years.
