Wake up, people keep their cars because it’s a huge waste of money to keep replacing them. I would rather use my money to travel.
In my case, cars are my hobby and the hobby pays for itself (the sale of one car pays for the next so that I'm not taking money from my paycheck). So I get to have cars, change them regularly, AND travel and have fun.
BTW... Your TDI's might prefer a different fuel stabilizer than PS (has alcohol) Injection pumps hate that stuff.
My original IP last 722k miles. I had picked up an 11mm IP a few years before, so I was ready when the original one failed. Plus all the ULSD around here is B05 or B10 depending on the season. So PS in the white jug is fine.
To answer the OP, yes we tend to keep vehicles a long time. I aim for 10 years or more. If it's less than that, it's been due to some outside cause, like an accident.
My Celica is 18 years old with only 64,000 miles on it. It looks great and still drives like a dream. It was my first and only new car and I still love it.
My previous car was purchased in August 2004 and I replaced it in January 2015. The car before that one was purchased in 1996 and was running great when it was hit by a truck that ran a yield sign. Insurance declared it totaled. Still have my 2015 Elantra with almost 40,000 miles.
My Lexus LS 460 is 7 years old and I'm sure I'll have it for at least 3 more years. I can't stand a lot of the new crap they're putting in new cars these days. My Porsche is a 2005 low mileage fun car that looks like the day it was made, seriously. They'll bury me in it.

Keep it forever. The new LS is awful. Not even a V8. Hang on to the LS that was anything like the original formula. They were still smooth and quiet and soothing then, not wanna be sports sedans.
I have an '04 LS430 with only 144k that my survivors can bury me in, I love that car that much. Classic Lexus formula, pure 100% luxury, not trying to chase Porsches up mountains.
