Glad to know it's not a flaw in my browser window. I thought something looked odd with the format on this page.

Paid $4.89 for premium Saturday (MI). Was a bit shocked at how much it's gone up since the last time I filled up with it.

I know prices are up due to OPEC cutting production. Although, I read it was only 1 million barrels per day...which really is a drop in the bucket, so it has to be the speculators on Wall St. driving it up.

Also, I've seen many news reports first claim that it's the heat wave in the oil refining states causing it, since it's too hot, then after that, they will say OPEC cut production. I'm calling BS on the heat thing though. The refineries in the middle east don't seem to have any issues with the 110 plus degree heat.

We happened to do some shopping at Safeway lately so I decided to gas up there and hopefully have some rewards. Sure enough, I got a 30 cent discount, down to $4.49. Costco, usually the cheapest, is at $5.29 so I saved $14.40.

I guess I am lucky. I can afford buying fuel, but my wife and I don't drive enough to worry about it, plus we buy fuel that is discounted by $1.00 per gallon x 35 gallons. We usually have 20 to 30 gallons stored in one of the sheds, and still give the discount to one of our sons because we don't need so much gasoline. We have four automobiles on the driveway: 2013 Tundra 5.7L engine, 2010 RAV4 V6, 2001 Silverado truck (has over 217,000 miles, and countless hours of idling time), 2012 Corolla, 2013 UTV (parked in the garage), 2014 Honda Foreman ATV (parked in one of the sheds). The tanks are full, too

^^^^^ Which was on 7/30/23 (when I bumped this thread of mine re the thread title no longer being true) and the price was $3.09 9/10.

^^^^^ And that was on 8/6/23.

Three days after that (8/9/23)....got gas again at the same station....again $2.99 9/10.

Today, a week later (8/16/23).....got gas again at the same station ....and now the 7/30/23 bump is true again....price is back up to $3.09 9/10.
