Hate to break the news to you but while the 59 is oft mentioned, they didnt get it right till 1960.

Those lines... Best in the business. You gotta ask why chrysler and edsel were even showing up at the dance with their abominations, while GM was making icons like this, the Impala, Corvette. Living with one is another thing. I owned a 65 caddy hearse for 4 years a couple decades ago, and drove a buddys 69 deville convertible extensively when I was in the navy, which is a coincidence because if you closed your eyes it was easy to mistake its handling for being back on the ship. Which was the USS Coral Sea, an aircraft carrier. I can only imagine the previous generation was even worse.

BTW my 65, aka "club dead". Had a disco dance floor in back, you could stand up.

I would simply love to have my first car back: 1965 Ford Mustang with straight 6 engine.

Same here. I didn't want any particular car when "growing up".

Now I will say the last year of Toyota FJ40, think it was '83 or '84. That would put me in my twenties at the time as a new vehicle.

Yeah, I raced my 75 Camaro (a V-8) against my friend's Trans Am (1978) and won. Gas was $1.25 a gallon and I got 10 mpg -- LOL.

i remember asking my boys (three sons) when they were in middle school or thereabouts, what kind of car they wanted. The first two had answers. my third son promptly answered "It hasn't been invented yet" and he drew it for me and described it.

now THAT is a visionary.

I remember these. DeMuro reviewed one somewhat recently.

As a young teen, I was obsessed with the VW Cabriolet Convertible (mid-late '80s). I think Donna or Kelly from 90210 drove one, so that would explain why.

I even had my mother sign a contract, promising to get me one if I made certain/good grades. I met my goal, but she never did fulfill her end of the bargain. Hmmmm, perhaps I should call her out on it now? lol
