True but you can get a lot of that on a 3/4-1 ton with a gas burner without the $6500 diesel. My 2500HD with a gasser for the most part has the same beefy components as the diesel. You used to be able to get the 8.1L with the same allison tranny that came in the diesel but GM quit offering the 8100.

Your right, I just sometimes forget about gas engines in 3/4-1ton trucks.
The only reason I have one is for towing and I would never consider a gasser. Although I think if you buy smart that diesel won't come with the $6500 price difference.
When I bought my Ram/Cummins I shopped and waited for a left over 01. Got a loaded (everything but leather), 4x4 Quad Cab sport for $30k otd with the window's tinted , ton. cover and larger tires.

I'd take a Toyota Hilux diesel in a heartbeat.

Anvil reliable and impossible to kill.

Just google hilux top gear.

just read this thread and found VERY few truck drivers posted~ mostly a bunch of little bitty pickup drivers~ truckers do indead drive deisels for the most part!
