American officials requested that details of the new technology not be disclosed out of concern that doing so might enable militants to evade U.S. detection. But officials said the previously unacknowledged devices have become a powerful part of the American arsenal, allowing the tracking of human targets even when they are inside buildings or otherwise hidden from Predator surveillance cameras.
Why not? What is the problem with drones flying all over the US spying on citizens? We have had so-called traffic cams and crime cams in use all with the blessing of the American people for years now. We gladly carry RFID's with us that broadcast who we are, are spending habits, and our location. Sooner or later we will cameras on every corner watching everybody all the time. Our emails and cell phone calls are monitored. Even our children are watched via video on school buses and schools.
So what's a few predator drones?
What's that you say? Constitution rights! Don't be silly they are only spying on us to protect Americans.
You know they have been running drug interdiction flights for years with U2's out of Moffett Field.....Targeting those California coastal fields..........
Goolge earth is updated quite often if someone was growing pot in their yard. They can see the plants quite easily.
Have a stolen car out back.
It does not matter to some people if the pic is old or not it still shows everything you have in your yard, some will think this is is an invasion of privacy.
Surveillance cams are everywhere. stores, streets, banks, schools and peoples homes. Planes and helicopters have been watching us for years.

History has proven that eventually the tools of war used by our own armed forces on foreign battlefields are eventually brought home and used against the citizens of the US.

LMAO, the difference?
With UAV's there is no overtime or medical benefits or union dues...
Thank you for illustrating the slippery slope upon which citizens have lost every reasonable expectation of privacy on their own property. Orwellian is it not?

We would not have jet aircraft, or have put anyone on the moon, or have a civilian GPS system, had it not been for proven battlefield technology. If battlefield technology has proven to be effective, and there is a civilian use for the technology, then why should it not be put to practical use in the civilian sector?
With regard to law enforcement, we should use the most effective tools at our disposal. Remember, it is not the tool that is the problem, but how that tool is being used. As long as government upholds our constitutionally protected rights, then it should not matter what tool they choose to use.
