I never understood why the US doesn't have a couple of airlines in the top ten best airlines ranking. I mean the US is a superpower, pioneer in aviation and yet we have AA, Delta, United etc etc all crap airlines by developed countries standards. KLM, Air France, British Airways, Lufthansa, SAS etc etc are all better airlines than what we have in the US. Why is that?
1. Emirates, United Arab Emirates
2. Singapore Airlines, Singapore
3. Azul, Brazil
4. JetBlue, United States
5. Air New Zealand, New Zealand
6. Korean Air, South Korea
7. Japan Airlines, Japan
8. Thai Smile, Thailand
9. Alaska Airlines, United States
10. Garuda Indonesia, Indonesia
Only way US carriers will substantially improve is by either regulation or competition. Good luck with the former and the latter is being fought tooth and nail.
Funny on these 2 airlines is that the guy who founded Jetblue also founded Azul. I believe he got kicked out by the board after that fiasco during a big snowstorm in December.
I second the Alaska Airlines vote of an excellent airline. We had excellent service, the plane seemed clean and their customer service when Seattle had a broken luggage loader was excellent.
