Any chance you could provide me with the link where United said the crew was put on the flight because of not scheduling/staffing properly. Everything I have seen is your typical biased one sided view. Who knows? Maybe I need to change my position on this matter. While that could be the case, there are far more possibilities as to why that crew was put on the flight.

I don't think UA would feel compelled to justify publicly why the crew had to deadhead on that particular flight, other than they didn't have a time-qualified crew for a flight out of Louisville the next day. This information has already been cited in the articles I've seen. While such information might help them PR-wise... the water has already gone far away from the bridge. I don't think that poster's view is necessarily one-sided, it is really the only side that has been revealed as far as I can see.

UA knew there wouldn't be enough seating to include the deadhead crew regardless of how far ahead of time that they knew it; but they did know that the flight was full. I fly quite a bit and it isn't unusual for the agent to call for volunteers because of this very thing... but it happens at the gate before people start to get on the plane. Have never seen something like this occur once people are actually sitting in their seats, anticipating the flight.

Regardless of what the hours requirement was to get the crew to Louisville so they could still fly... I think UA stands to lose more $ from the bad publicity and lost bookings than it would have cost to either put that crew on another flight/airline or even hire a simple Kingair charter or something.

If you need to bump ticketed passengers to get a crew to the proper place, yes, that is poor planning on part of the airline.

Well I did not think it could happen.

That SWA would be deposed for treating paying customers like crap. But lo and behold UA steps to the head of the pack and violently assaults a man who did not want to leave his seat. Truly unbelievable.

And yes you can count on a UA thread shortly.

Their policy includes a violent assault?

I am just glad we have technology that allows to tell an unbiased side of the story. Another bad reputation for law enforcement and United.

Don't see how he broke any law. If anything, his civic rights were violated.
They picked the small Asian guy. Would have like to see them take on a man who could handle himself. Now that would have been a video worth watching.

The crew could not closed the doors of the plane, do the safety briefing, etc, That is interfering with the crew.
I would seek professional help if you actually believe your drivel.
