Figure what out? That both of your riddles are similarly juvenile, ridiculous and riddled with rudimentary assumptions with no basis in fact?

That's absolutely what most of us [including myself] have done.
We've taken it on faith, not understanding.
Faith, by definition, requires belief with little or no empirical evidence (e.g., religion). The sciences, while maybe not understood by everyone, are based in provable facts which can be modeled mathematically and are exhaustively peer-reviewed by others including skeptics and other nay-sayers who seek to poke holes in various theories. Scientific consensus is not "faith." Neither is agreeing with scientific consensus even though you aren't a scientist.

What were those assumptions

Like the riddles, if one wants to "solve" it, they need to know where we went "wrong"

Which is what most people are doing.
They don't have the empirical evidence and are calling out people for not understanding the science, while they themselves don't understand the science.

This is a person who might accuse others of not understanding logic is they believed the earth was flat.
Oblivious to their own inability to understand logic.

I think this is exactly what the flat earth people are doing.
Watching people who don't understand the science they are complaining about people not understanding.
To what end? If they're trying to convince someone of their hypocrisy or discredit science in general for religious/philosophical reasons, they're failing in a spectacularly idiotic way. If they're trolling for the lulz, you might say they're a success. I suspect it's the latter rather than the former -- or they're fundamentalists of some stripe who really believe this garbage.
And if it's all about trolling, I've taken the bait like all the rest.
But if the earth is a spinning disc, wouldn't the forces be radial? It couldn't be a sphere, I don't know what it would look like.
Well, here's an example. Look up honeycomb earth. Our planet is not planet but a living 'yolk' enclosed in a mantle, albumen('dome' as flat earthers would say) shaped like an egg. There are multiple of suns(some say 3 or 15) and one moon all inside the mantle, below the dome, above the yolk, above the ground. Our Earth is both flat and round. Outside the mantle is bigger polygonal living cell, that cell is layed upon the round layer of other similar polygonal cells. Each layer is wrapped around the 'lower', 'inner' layer by increasing the size. There are 14 layers estimated. Between the layers there is similar to water liquid with very high pressures, that is told by scientists, when they talk about space on heliocentric model. Outside the planet there are other planets alike, swimming like fishes in a similar to water liquid. There are also parallel universes, and parallel worlds all around and beyond, and inside. Just to say: we are the worlds ourselves as the body and the soul(astral body), we encompass myriads of worlds/universes, parallel worlds/universes and living beings, conscious beings inside. It's all living, it's all one big organism, mechanism, system! We are all united.

As I've said, I don't think most of them believe it.
It probably started in some silly argument.
The earth is round
It's flat
How could it be flat?
What if...
Yeah but...
Well, then...
People trying to come up with different ways to explain observed phenomena.
I admire him for putting himself out there and speak his mind. Back on C-D, people are hiding behind silly screen names petrified they might be "doxxed." I would hire him in a heartbeat, not because he is right but because he is not afraid to think.
It's a joke. He's not "putting himself out there", he's mocking the flat-earth crowd.
The atmosphere the plane flies in isn't static, it's moving at about same speed as the ground because of friction caused by viscosity of the air.

You clearly do not understand a word he just said!

Now, for your brilliant explanation that the plane is attached to the center of the earth by a string and moves along with it. How is this any smarter than what the guy says in the video? It raises far too many questions than it answers.
I said no such thing. I was trying to dumb it down to a child's level of scientific understanding to give you a fighting chance at gathering it in, but it still sailed miles over your head.
This is pointless. Not only do you have no clue what you're talking about, you actually seem proud of that. As though it somehow proves how smart you are. This is really bizarre.
