I have yet to hear the Baltimore/Dundalk accent. I do here Baldimore occasionally, though, but that is it. I'm starting to believe that it does not exist.

When I first moved to Maine, I had to ask for directions to get somewhere. Took me about 10 minutes before I understood the guy was telling me that where I wanted to go was by the airport. Ayuhpaht.

I was talking to a woman from Maine one day and commented that she did not sound like she was from Maine. She pointed out that the accent was primarily a which side of the tracks you are from. Essentially, the poorer you are the thicker the accent. Made sense seeing as how some had the accent to varying degree and others did not.

There are two distinct New England accents; western and eastern with tons of local dialects. The eastern accent, in general, sounds a lot like a typical Maryland accent to me.
