I agree. Sunday mornings are pretty peaceful throughout.

A few weeks ago I did see some good ol boys tooling round the perkins homes with a giant, oversized confederate flag flying in the bed of the lifted chevy truck and country blasting. I'm sure if we assumed what their message was, we'd be criticized for doing so ... but it seemed like the physical manifestation of trolling to me!

I would bet that IF anyone was offended it was because of the Country Music...LOL.. I would wonder if any of the residents under the age of 25 would view the Confederate Flag the way people did 10 or even 20 years ago? I could be wrong but seems like it takes more to offend people today aside from those who peddle racism.. I mean look at shows like the Cleveland Brown Show and movies like Django... Twenty Years ago no one would have dared do a program or movie like these (comedies) but now.. though some people still balk... they go relatively unchallenged.... You have a few exceptions such as Blazing Saddles but not many.... LOL

The Perkins Homes are now home to a growing Hispanic community; many of whom are immigrants. Not sure if they would understand the whole confederate flag thing.

Wow... interesting.. I knew that the area around Perkins "upper fells" had a growing Latino population but I did think that the actual Perkins Homes development had a significant Latino population....

That's also news to me.

Anyhow, when I lived in Atlanta, I saw plenty of blacks with Georgia State U Flag bumper sticker on their cars. That flag had a mini confederate flag in the upper left corner. No one ever blinked an eye or questioned it.

Would you really think that to be the rule, and not the exception?
