I think when a new team is making noise you want to wait a while before taking them seriously. I been fooled too many times lol

They were having issues even before he went out.

-Rookie coach
-Bad defense (bottom 1/4 of league)
-Bench issues

Now yes, they are still a work in progress so maybe they figure some of that out but Varejao, barring a great trade or two before the deadline, really makes this year look to be (to his extreme credit) the first year in a long time we won't be seeing Lebron in the finals.

I didn't think we would see Lebron in the Finals if Varejao never got hurt due to

1. Love and Irving being in the postseason for the 1st time

2. Cavs not having that much production from the bench

3. Bulls being a flat out better team.

I see no reason why the Bulls won't be back in the Finals

Agreed. Gasol and Butler have both been better than I expected and Rose is coming around although erratic.

I will state though that until the Cavs fix their defense, nothing else matters.

Bosh is showing why he's probably a better player than Love....because of what he brings at both ends.

I thought the Love signing was overhyped because the man never had to play in a pressure situation while being in minnesota. So i don't think it's easy to go from not being in the playoffs for 6 years to all of a sudden being in the playoffs and EXPECTED to perform. See in Minnesota he had no expectations because the front office had no expectations for the team and he was just able to have fun

I agree with that as well. I just think if the Cavs had any hope, they needed Verajo. I have really been impressed with the Bulls' Butler so far this season; plus that rookie the Bulls have--his name escapes me--has been pretty good as well.

I was definitely expecting more from him but the whole fitting together\meshing thing is a work in progress.

So far, I'm wrong though.

I remember Bosh's numbers tanking when they all got together in Miami.

Mirotic. Bulls drafted him the same year as Butler. (Also same year as KI and TT on Cleveland).

So he played 3 years or so in euro-ball so he's a rookie*.

The New York Knicks are officially pathetic! 97-81 home loss to the Pistons. Pistons are now 4-0 since they booted cancer........................ooops, that was only Josh Smith! but still it's not like they were "good" by any means. Hey Knick fans: Spring Training starts in about 45 days!

Looks like Josh Smith may have been the problem since they are 4-0 after his exit. I never thought he was star material since he is only able to score on the fast break and no jumpshot at all. His offensive style is not suited for organized basketball.
