True but that really wasn't your point or my point. The guy has had a great NBA career, TO management messed up is my point. The guy wasn't even out of his prime when they traded him for a Dell laptop and some winter tires. If they were going to trade him it should have been in 2010 at least....the guy was the best thing to happen to the franchise.

Yeah I agree he was just getting started in 2002 and he was gone by 2005

This is why he was probably traded after the 2004-2005 season.

After that run to the Semi-Finals with the 76ers in 2001.

1. The next year they lost in the 1st round

2. The 2002-2003 season they missed the playoffs

3. The 2003-2004 season they missed the playoffs

4. The 2004-2005 season they missed the playoffs

So the fact that the team became worst each year after that 2001 trip to the Semi-Finals, I guess they were forced to make moves

Spurs need to get everybody healthy and get a full rotation going ASAP. This team is in TROUBLE! They're currently 7th in the west and are getting whipped by a Durantless Thunder team. At this point I'd say we're a first round exit at best.

Are you really judging the spurs on what's happening on Christmas?

That's why I said "at this point."

There's still a lot of season left to play, I know. But there doesn't look to be as big a margin for error this year as there usually is. Have you looked at the conference standings in the west? Spurs are in a position to get left in the dust if they're not careful.

Maybe so, but it wasn't on Carter. They had a terrible coach, GM and MLSE was off at the time. Bad situation though. At least they're good now.

No team misses the playoffs three years in a row with a true franchise player

AI
Kobe
Lebron
D-Wade

Lakers beat GS the other day too.

Spurs are coasting. Plain and simple.

Until they are eliminated, they are a threat (barring major injuries).

Old story here but: Why It's Time to Forgive Vince Carter.
This was a story of a clueless president, gm, and coaches.

"Meanwhile, whatever perceived sins Carter was guilty of in Toronto have never again manifested themselves in his long career, even as the Raptors have remained a franchise adrift all these years later. It’s worth asking if maybe, just maybe, Carter wasn’t the problem." (quote from the article that I linked).
