Most rental companies are limited to something like 30 or 45 days so they don't have to be licensed as a lease company. When we have to rent for longer than 30 days, we have multiple reservations, one for the first 30 days, and each additional for each time after that. If you are a corportate member of a rental company, they will make the reservations in blocks of 30 days but bill you on their special long term rate.

Try bidding a 1 month rental on priceline. However, your best bet may be to call each company individually, explaining your situation and book that way. I just did that for my broker who needed a car for about 2 months when she was getting no where online.

I recently did a 1 month rental through Enterprise (not the one at the airport) for an economy car (cheapest car) and I got a Kama'ina rate at it costed me $642 (total out of pocket cost including all taxes but no insurance..i opted out of that).
I called several other companies like Budget, Avis, etc and Enterprise was giving me the cheapest rate out of them all. Others were quoting me at around $1200/month.
Obviously you won't get the kama'ina rate since you are not local so expect to pay more and if you rent the cars at the airport they will have higher rates than the rentals places away from the airports.

priceline.com

Do a couple of 2-3 week rentals for the best pricing.
