I plan on moving to Kona next year and want to start a dive boat operation. Does anyone have any advise or suggestions:think? Anyone here have a dive boat business?

Tourist is way down. Long standing operators with great reputations are hurting. Relationships with other tourist industry are built but still things are slow. Don't know how a new operator will survive at this time of the economy.

You need to differentiate yourself, like i heard there is this one company in kona and they take you on night dives looking for manta rays. Its supposed to be crazy, like once you turn on your lights in the water their are supposed to be many right below you (assuming they are in some spot that the company can attract them to). But yeah, find a niche and best of luck to you.
