i do wonder if the non-Birmingham games will ever attract much of a crowd, even on a non-holiday with perfect weather.

Even if they chose to play in any of the other seven team cities, it would still be the same way. Good chance people won't attend games that their own team isn't playing in. This first year is about television viewership and advertisements, plus to keep operations cost down. FOX ultimate goal is to attract people to own the teams. And to do that, getting that television and advertising revenue lead to substainability for the league, FOX, and potential owners.

Weather looks like it's going to be good for Saturday night. Hoping for a bigger turnout and a good showing on TV the Stallions.

FOX really is holding up their end of the deal with the spots for the city during the commericals breaks. Stuff got me smiling. It's crazy to know that a lot of eyes are seeing the city up close and in the spotlight like they haven't before. Birmingham could come out of this with a good amount of success.

crowd looked decent. hope that continues (and even grows) throughout the season.

i do feel bad for the non-Birmingham games, but i'm sure they knew it would be like that when they decided on a hub.

Crowd was about half of opening night, at least by my estimates from where I was sitting. I would have hoped for more considering the perfect weather, but I'm sure Talladega drew away quite a few potential guests.

I think they would have hoped that more locals adopted the other teams, but it is what it is. Some of these other cities can load up and drive over if they want, especially some of the southern league teams.

yeah, there's only so much they could have reasonably expected from a 1 million metro. i think Birmingham has done a pretty good job all things considered.

Interesting take. I'm sure he just don't know how Birmunham is booming and on the move.

which "take" are you referring to? the video is 26 minutes long and is mostly an analysis of the 4 games, quality of play, technology, etc.
