Seems like the Infiniti G series and Lexus IS series are stealing the thunder.

Dave Ramsey: "Live from Financial Peace Plaza, where debt is dumb, cash is king, and the paid-off home mortgage has taken the place of the BMW as the status symbol of choice."

In City of SF, new 3-series are much like taxis for yuppie, <30yo guys/girls...even the ZipCar svc has 3-series as a choice...>30yo yuppies in SF often choose 5-series...or some Audi

For yrs, in SF and LA, newer M3s have been a popular choice among, often Asian, kids who likely aren't college-educated; work at BestBuy or some other retailer; and live w/Mommy...perhaps not manly yuppies in the "classic" sense

Perhaps the Japanese ricer/rapper-wannabe cars are for those kids who couldn't swing the cool job at BestBuy

From what I've seen, young professionals don't seem to care about cars very much at all. It appears most drive used mid-sized cars. I see lots of Mercedes, Audis, and BMW's, but mostly among the middle aged set.

More recently I am seeing more Chrysler 300's driven by younger people. The Nissan Altima is ever popular.

It is what he says at the beginning of his radio show. LIVE from Financial Peace Plaza (where he broadcasts from), WHERE debt is dumb, cash is king..." He's not talking about the nation, he is talking about in the sphere of his influence/teaching. But I dare say many, many, many people are coming around to that way of thinking, especially in the current economic environment.

Wouldn't bother me in the least, that news plus Bangle's exit sound like a great recipe for BMW's to start being proper again... but who am I kidding, Van Hooydonk's a total follower of the Bangle doctrine.
