Listening to David Sedaris' When You are Engulfed in Flames, and reading Our Souls at Night, a novel by Kent Haruf, and a memoir titled Men We Reap by Jesmyn Ward. Really enjoying all 3.

That said, I'm happy to be a reader again and appreciate Crawdads for dragging me out of my drought!
I enjoyed Crawdads a lot ---but whatever took you back to being a reader is a great thing. I think we have all been there and it's a wonderful thing to find a book that gets you back to reading.
Welcome back.

Hi Miguel's Mom -- sorry I couldn't rep you back...

The only book that came to mind similar to "The Age of Miracles" was "All the Birds in the Sky" by Charlie Jane Anders that I remember enjoying https://www.amazon.com/All-Birds-Cha.../dp/0765379953

I selected this book from my Library's Choice Section and found it to be a very smart and very witty read.

"Harraga" by Boualem Sansal https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/22245547-harraga

This was a 4.5 star read for me. It was a relatively short book at 276 pages.

Now that I'm a reader again, I'm moving on to Merchant of Sonoma: Pioneer of the American Kitchen by William Warren. It is a biography of Chuck Williams - best known for starting the cooking store, Williams Sonoma. My husband reads about 6 books a year and always wants me to read what he enjoyed. About 5 of those 6 books have something to do with sailing which is totally not my jam, so I jumped in on this one. Page 11 - so far, so good!

Just finished Before We Were Yours, such a sad and beautiful story. Before that was A Wise Man's Fear, Patrick Rothfuss. Good god man! Finish the 3rd book!!!

I finished the book on Queen Victoria which was really quite good, and I definitely liked a lot of the descriptions of the norms of the times so to speak. The history got a little more involved and I tend to gloss over it , but I may have missed some important points. Overall it was pretty good. The author is Julia Baird.
I just started My Sister the Serial Killer which someone suggested and as with most books I read, I had no idea what it was about other than the title and that it was suggested. It's actually a hoot so far; quite surprised at that! It is not a big book at all and I think I will probably finish it within a day or two.

I just started, "Night Boat to Tangier" by Kevin Barry. But I won't be able to finish it, as it is due back at library tomorrow & they won't let me renew it, as someone else has it on hold. I will see how late I can stay up to see if I can finish it. Enjoying it so far.

Was considering reading the new book that was just picked by Oprah (before Oprah picked it), but man o man, after reading this and the corresponding brouhaha on twitter, I'm crossing it off my list.
