fenway park, odd question but need definitive answer (Dalton, Huntington: garage, trains)

hi! my fam will be in boston for a few days. anyhoo, we have tix to a sox game while we're there. we're traveling with a 6mo and i read online that fenway is stroller friendly. i've also read that there is a place to check the stroller once you're in the park...i've also read that isn't the case. can i get confirmation on what is true? (we have a city mini, if that helps) thanks!

Maybe best to call Fenway. If it is true, they can tell you what gate, etc. These days they're probably trying very hard to be fan-friendly.

From their site:

Strollers and Diaper Bags are welcome at Fenway Park provided that they can fold up easily and can fit beneath fans' seats. Strollers may not be checked once inside the ballpark.

I used to work at Fenway, and can't say I'd ever seen a stroller or an infant. And I have no idea how you'd fit a stroller under one of those seats.

I have never seen a stroller at Fenway and would think it would be a huge hassle there. I have seen people with infants but they are always in those baby front carrier things. Baby bjorns I think they are called.

Any Ballpark will be tough with a stroller. I would simply park at a lot close to the ballpark, there are quite a few, and carry the child in.

I have seen a few young babies at games with their parents, so it's not uncommon.

Just got off the phone with the Sox guest services: "Families may check their strollers at "fan services" at either gate B, E, or D."

Getting a consensus: would you park at the Pru or take the T?

Well I guess that explains why I've never seen a stroller in the park!

You can park closer and cheaper than the Pru and I wouldn't want to take a child on the T during a game (it's just so crowded). The garage at 48 Dalton St. is $14 for night and weekend parking. From there, it's an easy walk (with the stroller) to Fenway.

If it's a night or Sunday game, I always suggest parking on Parker St. right near NEU and Wentworth (intersects Huntington Avenue where the Museum of Fine Arts is). Park on the South side and the meters are free after 8pm (if you park at 6ish, pay $2 for 2 hours of parking and you're all set) and all day on Sunday (no money necessary). two blocks off of Huntington and there are no more meters. From Parker it's an easy and pleasant (through the fens) 10-15 minute walk to the ballpark. You can just about always find parking on the street there.

The real question is where are you staying? If you're downtown, the 55 will take you to Fenway and doesn't have anywhere near the game day crowds you have on the trains. It also drops off right at the gates. (outfield). Not a bad deal.
