Makes no sense. They just need to have graduated ticketing based on number of tickets received.

Penalize behaviors not bank accounts.

That actually makes sense. Then that 500K "I don't give a crap" jacka$$ will start feeling it eventually.

Well I assume the reason to have fines for parking violations is to deter behavior. And I can understand that some people who make a ton of money would rather just continue to violate and pay the fees than do the right thing. So it makes sense then to adjust fines per income so they may actually serve as a deterrent.

people who can afford it generally choose a parking garage, or valet parking! Folks on say a fixed income-say less than $1,300. a month fear getting a ticket. They fear anything that will upset a delicate balance of finances. A ticket could mean that they loose their car, are unable to register their car. If they live in public housing, they will no longer be able to park in their assigned space. It is like dominoes!

.
that is a good idea. But if read some about the City Councilwoman ( https://www.juliaforboston.com/about-julia ) that initiated this, you will see she is all about Social Justice, which is largely aligned with a Socialist world view, and that this isn't really about increasing penalties for abusive parkers. It is about (A.) giving a discount to her low income constituents in Dorchester, (B.) Advancing her 'Social Justice' agenda.

Some of us are for REAL justice. Not the phony pander to your voters "Look at me I'm for the disadvantaged!", "I get "woke"" nonsense crap.

I am for real Justice. Not her corrupt Orwellian version of Justice. "Social Justice" is a premeditated lie.

Just get a low income and or retired person to do the driving in their car and park anywhere you want. Afterward, pay this person's fine for them. It will likely end up being the cheapest option for good parking spots in Boston with it much less than most garages.
