Well, yea this is exactly my point. Construction has slowed down. I'm not crediting the completion of a project started a decade ago. Are they even still building over there? Like you said lots are still available. And the BHA corridor we talked about is VERY open in many spots.

Boston's sagging crane numbers

Via Scott Van Voorhis comes the news that the number of big cranes perched atop construction sites in Boston has dropped from an average of 12 a couple years ago to just 9 in the first quarter of 2022.

Its pretty obvious to my naked eye construction isnt what it was in 2017/16/18

"Police are increasing patrols in the still-troubled Mass and Cass area after a spate of stabbings, including at the Boston Public Health Commission-run Engagement Center, that again has roiled the South End neighborhood.
Five different apparent non-life-threatening stabbings took place in the area over just the past few days, according to police reports.
The seeming unrelated slashings in and around the open-air drug market in the South End area started just before 5:30 p.m. Sunday, when someone stabbed a man “over thirty dollars,” the victim eventually told police after originally claiming the gash on his thigh came from falling off a guardrail on a nearby bridge. The stabee at 290 Southampton St. — which is actually several blocks away from the concentrated heart of the area up around Atkinson Street — originally gave a fake name and wouldn’t talk, but after paramedics said his wound seemed to be from a stabbing, he parted with the small amount of information.
Monday then saw two stabbings in the BPHC-run Engagement Center on Atkinston Street.

Cops were called around 2:21 p.m. for reports of a stabbing in the smoking area. Police arrested John Hammersley on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and drug possession after, according to the police report, he went looking for “his gram” of drugs he’d hidden near the trash can of the center, realized it wasn’t there, and then knifed the man who he suspected of swiping it.
According to the report, he said he’d just punched the man who stole his stash.
As cops were at the Engagement Center for that call, they were told there actually had been another stabbing there earlier in the same smoking area a couple of hours earlier. There was scant information available about that.
Mayor Michelle Wu’s office said in a statement that the “safety of Engagement Center clients and staff is our top priority.”
“The Boston Public Health Commission is working closely with the Boston Police Department to enhance safety procedures,” a Wu spokeswoman said. “We continuously monitor and evaluate our safety and security protocols to ensure they meet our current needs.”"
You werent done..

Two more people were stabbed Tuesday morning, according to police reports. In the first, a man said he was minding his own business shortly before 9 a.m. and walking across Southampton Street near Atkinson “when someone walked up to him and ‘stuck him,’ ” the police report says, quoting the apparent victim. Cops found a blood trail down the block from Atkinson to nearby Topeka Street.

Less than an hour later, a man walked into the Victoria Diner on Massachusetts Avenue and said his friend had been stabbed on the nearby Newmarket Commuter Rail platform. The victim was gone when Boston cops showed up, but a trail of blood remained there, too.

And this is where they're gonna build Roxbury Preps' (not BPS, but still- the city supports it) new building? And we wonder why BPS is so Bad. Part of it is the kids are told by the city every day they're not worth anything more than a check. From both parents and the city. You don't see ay new office buildings popping up in Newmarket Square, but its cool to send impressionable low-income 14 year olds there for school?- where they cant even hold Pop Waner Practice because of all the needles in the playground and the elementary school has a red hazmat box out front....

Wait, how can it be? Didn’t comrade chairWumyn declare mission accomplished after spending tens of millions of taxpayer dollars allegedly getting the masscass zombies housed?

That’s what happens when you have rent control clowns taking over, and all the yuppies with deep pockets who would have been housed in the towers that aren’t getting built are already going through the real estate listings looking for a nice big Victorian or a triple-decker if the pockets aren’t as deep that’s currently a rental to empty out and renovate to their liking.

While this is all good. There is a (very) current uptick in crime. Of the 11 homicides so far this year (very few, normally we'd be closer to 15-20) 5 have happened this month.

Yeah, I think the analysis left room for that coming possibility based on the conditions set forth in the piece.

Just saw the following posted elsewhere. I can't find anything official to substantiate the report but I wouldn't be surprised if it comes out soon.

"Last night, at about 6:30 p.m., two Suffolk University students were accosted and assaulted by a group of juveniles while walking through the Boston Common. The Boston Police Department responded to the scene and was able to determine that a Suffolk University student was punched by one of the juveniles, who were approximately 11-14 years of age. This same group of juveniles has been responsible for several unprovoked attacks and property damage in the Downtown Crossing area, Macy's, and the Boston Common. The Boston Police are seeking criminal complaints against these juveniles. Chief Connolly has had several conversations with Captain Robert Ciccolo, the Boston Police A-1 Commander, about these assaults. Captain Ciccolo has assured SUPD that the Boston Police Department has added additional patrols in the Common and Downtown Crossing. Additionally, SUPD Officers will increase their presence on Tremont St.

One of the victims of last night's assault reported to Chief Connolly that two Suffolk students approached her and told her that one of them had recorded the assault on their phone. If you have any videos, or photos, of the assault, please contact the SUPD at 617-573-8333."

Just your usual innocent children who will soon be equally innocent teenagers doing equally innocent things - the face of BLM.
