In Cambridge specifically, there were zero murders in 2018, and 1 each in 2019 and 2020. This is in a city where the population is close to 120k if we're not there already per the 2020 Census when it comes out. There were ZERO victims of the 7 shooting incidents in 2020. Guys (and their trashy girlfriends) just getting a thrill from firing off rounds and then running. They think they're in a movie or something.

In the 90s, we had studio gangstas. Now we have social media gangstas. Not much to worry about compared to the 80s and 90s when I grew up. And it's a lot easier to catch these A-holes as well. Cops can just check social media and find all of the evidence they need.
Cambridge has people in the Port (and the coast) who let off shots but dont hit anyone

You can also see that it's the closest US city to almost all of Pakistan, all of Afghanistan, and a decent chunk of India.

Also, Boston is the 12th whitest major metro area (there are 51 of them) in the US. Pittsburgh is the whitest. Even St. Louis metro is whiter than Boston. And this is 2010 data. It's going to change considerably I'm sure when 2020 comes out.

Agreed. However white the Boston metro is has nothing to do with the crime rate in the city. See Detroit and St Louis and Milwaukee. People who commit crime in Boston are tied to other higher crime areas-not Wellesley..

Given Boston's racial demographics one would assume the crime rate would be higher. Its a different sort of culture in the city at the moment. But also the nature of violent crime in Boston is totally cyclical and reliant on gang beef. Some years its up like last year some years its down like this year and the year before.

I think MA is a small enough state that if terrible things are happening in New Bedford, Worcester, Springfield, and Brockton that people in Boston should still feel worried.
Springfield is closer to Boston than New York, but is 80 miles from Boston and 120 from New York. Why should I live my life in fear because of something that's happening roughly equidistant between here and NY? Too many people live their lives in fear. I refuse to buy into that mentality. And New Bedford is further away from Boston than Springfield, Providence, and much of Connecticut before you get to Hartford.

It seems both Providence and New Bedford have become hotbeds of criminal activity, while places northward have remained calmer so far. Even Brockton you don't hear as much about lately.

The real story behind the recent murder in Milton. Marquise Simmon was murdered by Myles King, 21 of Milton. Better known by Mizzie Cash. Mizzie Cash is a moderately popular young Milton rapper who has been 'cosigned' by a few people the rap industry from NYC and Philadelphia.

If you all are familiar with Love and HipHop Star, Source Magzine Founder and proud Bostonian Raymond Scott 'Benzino' Mizzie Cash made music with his son, Chavo. In addition to this Mizzie Cash was known to have feuds with a Dorchester rapper by the name of Dotti Bandz. Mizzie is from Hyde Park and attended Blue Hill Regional Vocational Technical School before dropping out.

Mizzie Cash has recently appeared in Cambridge rapper's Millyz World Star Hip Hop music video '
Cantaloupe' released last week. Mind you Millyz' Cambridgeport neighborhood has been the site of several shooting incidents since July 15th.

A little news from the streets.

yea yea im just joking bro- I'm not even in Boston. Hopefully, you appreciate the fuller picture though. We do a ton of speculating as to why these things happen or how. We can do a little less speculating if we just actually look.
