One of many reasons I park in the outer edge of the lot at ANY store I visit. The bottom feeders tend to collect towards the front.

Two lazy a's who didn't want to walk an extra 100ft from a spot. Those Bimmer drivers sure know how to incite rage!

I'm always amazed by this stuff. I realize that there are plenty of people without handicap placards that still benefit greatly from parking close - parents with small children in tow, people with temporary physical ailments, the elderly, etc. But I doubt those are the ones getting stabby over a parking space. I'll never understand why an able-bodied person will circle a lot for 10 minutes and get aggressive to park as close as possible rather than walking 100 feet more. Being in the grocery store is annoying enough, I don't need the added stress of competing with strangers for a parking space before I even set foot inside.

I suppose at other Market Basket locations a competition over a spot might involve a honk or a hand gesture, however, since this was in Chelsea it was probably two gangbangers so no surprise the ragey response was quite elevated to the point of one individual whipping out a knife.

I always get a chuckle when I see the same folks circling around trying for a closer spot as I'm walking in the door from my 'far' away spot that they could have just as easily parked in. By the time they park and get in the store, I'm already down aisle 2!

And on top of that your car won't look like a demolition derby, because the same ones who always jocky for those closer in spots are also the same j@#$ offs who will "tap" you with their carriage or opening their car door.

It's also been quite warm for this time of year the past few days. I can see wanting to get a closer spot if the temps are frigid but really the only reason to want to be up front is laziness and not wanting to walk far.

Yes, most of the time I try to park in a spot farther away from the entrance where no one else is. However, there a times when I come out and some yahoo with a beater car is directly next to me even though there are plenty of other open spots. It's like the nice, clean condition cars are a magnet to their dented, scraped up jalopy mobiles.
